Locum Band 7 Lead Physiotherapist - East London

We have a fantastic opportunity for a locum Physiotherapist to join a leading teaching hospital, based in East London. They are seeking a qualified Physiotherapist with previous Elderly Care experience.

  • With the Band 7 Occupational Therapy Lead, and Lead Physiotherapist in Bryning to manage the Elders Therapy Team
  • The Elders Therapy Team provides a service in the following venues:
­ The Bryning Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit

­ Strong and Steady Exercise Class

­ Elderly Care Unit

  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for older complex patients who are on the Elderly Care Unit. This includes managing a caseload of patients with multiple pathologies, supporting their rehabilitation as inpatients and planning dischargehome and handover to community teams as required.
  • Provide and receive complex information and effectively communicate this with the multidisciplinary team, including therapy colleagues, geriatricians, specialist nurses, ward staff and other consultants, in order to promote a problem solving approach forthe care of patients.
  • With the Lead Physiotherapist in Bryning ensure there is adequate therapy cover across inpatient and outpatient service, this may involve providing some clinic cover
  • Manage and provide clinical supervision to rotating Band 6, Band 5, Rehabilitation Assistants and undergraduate physiotherapy students on clinical placement
  • To assist in the coordination of UEL physiotherapy student placements
  • Provide specialist knowledge and teaching to team, department therapists and to nontherapy staff (such as medical & nursing staff).
  • Contribute to audit, research and service development led by the team lead.

Position Requirements

  • HCPC Registered
  • Minimum of two years postgraduate experience
  • Previous clinical experience performing a similar role within Elderly Care
  • 3 month (minimum) locum assignment to start as soon as possible
  • Full time hours (Monday
  • Friday)
