Job Overview


Support a contract team in the provision of a high quality general maintenance service; ensuring the upkeep of designated areas by carrying out general and specific duties as directed in line with the agreed contract specification.


Main Duties

  • Carry out general checks to the building, its fabric, fixtures and fittings, as requested by the customer and/or Mitie contract management team, maintaining internal and external premises and surrounds.
  • Liaise with Mitie facilities management team on the day to day running of the building the reporting of issues relating to operation and appearance.
  • Carry out routine checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimum conditions are achieved.
  • Ensure entrance and exit points are clean and tidy.
  • Ensure adequate stock of cleaning materials is held at site.
  • Assist in the packing and removal of equipment and furniture from site.
  • Address any acute internal issues for example blocked drains, toilets, minor spillages, replacement of light bulbs and lamps.
  • Painting and decorating as agreed and directed by management.
  • To help setting up meeting rooms for the business day including AV equipment, sound systems, media systems, setting up furniture and so forth as required by customers.
  • Accountable for communicating the status of work to Mitie facilities management team.
  • Maintain high standards of personal performance, hygiene appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience as a handyperson in a customerfacing environment will be essential,
  • Physical / Dexterity for manual handling accountabilities.
  • Able to work in a demanding and busy area.
  • Basic computer knowledge would be expected.
  • Flexible/Adaptable approach to work.
  • Friendly and approachable manner, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work on their own with mínimal supervision.
  • Sets and maintains high standards of delivery.
