Learning Support Assistant - Marple

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a
Special Needs Assistant with experience of complex needsto work on a long-term basis at one of our beautiful schools in Marple.

As
Special Needs Assistant, you will connect directly with the pupil to make sure they get the very best from their education.

The child in particular has another teaching assistant who supports them, and has Down Syndrome.

You will help the class teacher in preparing learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too.

You will take responsibility and support the children with their emotional and physical needs, supportingthem to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

Every day will be different within this wonderful school, but you will have all the support you need from class teacher, with lots of skills and experience to draw on along with valuable advice and guidance too.

Your duties might include:

Supporting and managing a pupil with additional needs and/or an Educational Health Care Plan
Taking responsibility for the safeguarding of the young people in your care
Supporting the school team to provide a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for students to learn

The ideal
Special Needs Assistantwill have
experience of complex needs or supporting children with Down Syndrome, and experience with Makaton.

To be considered for this role, you will also need to be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need.

Taking a very responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities,leading outdoor experiences or supervising children as they explore further afield.

Pay is between £75 and £85 a day.

The role is Monday to Friday - full time - and could go onto a permanent contract with the school for the right applicant.
