Grounds Person

£28,000 to £30,000 per annum

Mayfield School is a Catholic independent boarding and day School for 400 girls aged 11-18 years, set in 75 acres in the village of Mayfield in East Sussex.

The School community places great value on its extensive grounds and these are used for education, sporting, recreational and wellbeing purposes.

The grounds include playing surfaces both natural and artificial, garden areas, meadows, equestrian facilities and other hard landscaped areas.

The School is currently looking for an experienced and motivated person to join our existing professional Grounds Team.

The Grounds Person will work 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility required as there may be the need for some early morning and occasional weekend working.

The successful applicant will work with colleagues to ensure that all aspects of the grounds are maintained to the highest standards including helping to maintain our sports pitches and specialist surfaces.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Previous grounds/gardening experience ideally in a School or similar large establishment.
Experience of driving tractors, mowing machines and other grounds maintenance equipment.
NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent qualification in Sports Turf Maintenance preferable.
