Main Responsibilities

  • Provide solutions and risk oriented support to sales organisation, interface between Group Credit and the Front office
  • Enhance and develop existing & new credit products
  • Ensuring the client credit documentation is complete and up to date and reflect the decision
  • Filter exception requests, working with Group Credit and any other relevant escalation points
  • Periodic credit reviews according to the rules set out in the Credit Manual and applicable regulations such as MCOBs.
  • Periodically notify Group Credit and Senior Management of limit breaches and any credit risk class violation or changes.
  • Preparing reports for Group Credit Department, the CEO and the Board
  • Acting as contact point for the Group Credit Department.
  • Undertaking assessments of the credit risk / credit function ensuring appropriate controls and mitigants in place.
  • Developing credit policy in conjunction with Group Credit
  • Enhancement to existing and new Directives, Working Directives and Credit procedures
  • Deliver new product & credit process training to the front office and wider business

Competencies:

  • Understanding and experience of management of a bank's Credit and Operational risks.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant mortgage legal and compliance requirements (including MCOBS, treating customers fairly, and others)
  • Detailed and working knowledge of contractual and legal documentation relating to clients, including ESIS, Binding offers, facility templates etc
  • Strong track record of successful interaction with HNW clients in dealing with credit requests and HNW exemptions
  • Strong IT skills; learn to use multiple systems interchangeably for the completion of everyday tasks
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritise work, as well as being able to stop/start tasks when reprioritised.
  • Effective supervision of direct report(s).
  • Appropriate delegation of suitable tasks to the Credit Officer.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
