Purchasing Officer

Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Permanent Office based role

Commutable from Leeds, Garforth, Wetherby, York, Selby, Tadcaster

8.30am Monday to Friday

Saturday working 1 in 6 on a rota basis (May to November) paid in addition to basic salary


Hawk 3 Talent Solutions have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join an establish team based in Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire.


This is a fast-paced role, which requires accuracy and working to tight deadlines, ensuring compliance to policies and procedures are met.

To be effective in this role you will need to be a great communicator, an experienced problem solver and able to manage a busy and varied workload.

Organisation skills are key.


Duties

  • Ordering of everyday supplies down to bespoke technical components
  • Accurate receiving and checking of deliveries and problem resolution if necessary
  • Maintenance of the Company's Approved Supplier List
  • Researching and identifying potential new suppliers
  • Upkeep of product prices/descriptions on Sage Accounts
  • Collating COSHH assessments
  • Implementing/Maintaining company spreadsheets
  • Direct managing and working with the Stores person
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Ability to streamline costs and minimise waste
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to organise your own work and work to strict deadlines
  • Problem solving
  • Knowledge or Sage Accounts and Excel
  • Accurate attention to detail
