Description

Our client a very well established and respected manufacturer of bespoke joinery for the leisure industry are looking for a buyer to join their team.

The role will involve

  • Developing and creating relationships with key suppliers
  • Utilising and managing the RFQ process for cost efficiencies
  • Implementing, maintaining and reviewing supplier contracts and standards
  • Setting up a supplier risk database
  • Driving supply chain environmental, social and governance decisions
  • Regularly monitoring supplier, product and service performance and seeking improvements where necessary
  • Maintaining an effective company terms and conditions of purchase and ensuring compliance with company health and safety and environmental procedures
  • Sourcing new products, services and suppliers with a view to obtaining improvements in reliability, efficiency and waste reduction
  • Maintaining and improving costeffective purchasing and procurement systems and procedures
  • Ensuring effective stock management
  • A minimum of 3 years' purchasing experience within the joinery sector
  • The ability to communicate at all levels, written and verbal
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organisational and negotiation skills
  • Qualifications at level 5 CIPS preferred, although not essential
