We have a great opportunity to welcome someone into our team who is looking for the next step in their payroll career.

As a Payroll & Pensions officer you will provide a critical service back to our organisation, supporting all things pay related during an employee's journey within the council and our schools.


We strive to make our customers remuneration a positive experience ensuring they are looked after from the minute they join.

Monitoring pay for new starters and ensuring they are set up in line with pension regulations.


During your employment you will process self-serve expenses & mileage claims along with time & attendance and ensure any contractual changes are reflected in their pay.


You may already have much of the expertise we are looking for, such as good customer service, maintaining accurate records, producing MI and data analysis, which are all important skills required for this role.

Knowledge of the iTrent HR and Payroll system would be beneficial.


Our team is lucky to have a complement of experienced officers & assistants who have acquired knowledge of the authority and payroll alike over many years, working alongside newer members of the team who bring new ideas and different approaches to activity.


Working collaboratively alongside our other colleagues in the service you will feel valued and supported in your role and in the wider HR & Payroll service.


We offer flexible working with many of the team undertaking a hybrid approach by working both at home and in the office.


This area of work is continually developing and changing and will offer you a chance to lead on projects and implementing new legislation.


Ideally you will have a CIPP qualification or the willingness to work towards it at the soonest opportunity, which will be fully funded by our Apprenticeship Levy.
