We are looking for a strategic and experienced Head of Data Platform to join the Central Data Office(CDO) in the Data Quality Division.

This role is a pivotal part of the CDO team setting the Vision for the Data Platform in line with SJP's Data Strategy and working to evolve it over time.

Data has the potential to become one of SJP's most important assets.

As with most assets, data is only truly useful if it's trusted and quick and easy to access, which means building and operating a well-managed, well governed, and scalable data platform.

What you'll be doing?

  • Designing and building a Modern Data Stack to support SJPs Hub & Spoke Self Service data strategy.
  • Understanding SJP's data needs across the whole business and ensuring the Data Platform can provide the right data to the right individuals at the right time
  • Maintaining and making sure the Data Platform meets agreed service levels by establishing an Operating Model
  • Ensuring the Data Platform delivers data to an agreed Data Quality Standard
  • Governing and ensuring that an appropriate level of oversight is in place to ensure that the platform delivers what it needs to in a way that is safe and secure.
  • Communicating data platform capabilities to stakeholders and explaining how the data platform can be used to solve business problems.

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong maturity and knowledge of endtoend data lifecycle management including the challenges of using data to facilitate analytics.
  • Deep understanding of the how Data Teams deliver Data Products using Software Development Lifecycle and Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • A data enthusiast, passionate about business insight and is skilled at using narration and storytelling to drive decisions at all business levels including executive and board.
  • A highly proficient stakeholder and relationship manager, capable of fostering mutually beneficial relationships across multiple business areas
  • The ability to deal and overcome ambiguity, thriving on autonomy, and working to challenging timescales to realise tangible outcomes.
  • Proven leader, who mentors, leads by example, steers, encourages and provides feedback to develop team and others around them.

Special requirements:
Please be aware that this position is a Certification role under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
