Term Time plus 5 days
32.5hrs per week (8:30am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri)
Salary scale 5-9 (Grade 4)
£23,500 - £25,119 (£17,676 - £18,894 pro rata)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team and support our students in reaching their full potential.


As a Teaching Assistant at Sir John Nelthorpe School, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experience of our pupils.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the delivery of engaging lessons, provide one-on-one support to pupils, and contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the school.

As a Teaching Assistant you will assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons. Provide individualized support to pupils, including those with special educational needs. Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Support pupils with their academic and social development.
Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtime, and school activities.

Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure the well-being of all pupils and perform administrative tasks as needed.


Whilst previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role is preferred it is not essential however you should have a genuine passion for working with young people and helping them succeed.

You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Have patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
