Would you like to make your mark in a newly created position as Management Accountant? Does your background include the construction or civil engineering sectors?


Transparent is delighted to partner with this impressive business as it enters its next phase of growth, the result of which is a newly created position within their finance function as Management Accountant.

This role will offer a clear and progressivepath for your career in finance as you will be the start of an exciting journey as No 1 in finance reporting into an interim FD.


You will be given full support and training from the start and will be given the chance to understand all areas of the business from both a financial and a commercial perspective.

There is a genuine opportunity to progress as the business continues on itsupward trajectory.


Main responsibilities will include:
Production of accurate monthly management accounts to 5 day working timetable:

  • Contract revenue and cost reviews
  • Calculation of variance analysis of labour, overhead and profit recovery rates
  • Gross margin reporting on a job/contract basis
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Full balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reporting results with narrative
  • Development of relevant KPIs for all 3 businesses within the group
  • Full consolidation of intercompany trading
Forecasts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow)

Ensuring that the purchase ledger is accurate at all times:

  • Initially, you will need to be 'hands on', be prepared to post invoices etc.
  • Weekly payment runs
  • CIS subcontractor payment processing
Daily Bank Reconciliations

Cash management


The Person:

  • ACCA/CIMA qualified, or 'qualified by experience' with relevant industry background
  • Construction/heavy engineering experience is essential
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant
