PROFILE
Remedi have been commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to deliver the Greater Manchester Restorative Justice Service. Restorative Justice (RJ) is a process of communication between victims of crime and the offenders responsible.

We support victims and offenders of a wide variety of offence types, from shoplifting and criminal damage to sexual violence and murder.

We are recruiting for an Administrator to support our service for 25 hours per week, fulfilling the following responsibilities:

  • Working in partnership with Greater Manchester Police, the National Probation Service and local prisons to be the central point for new referrals into the service.
  • Reviewing referrals and allocating to the team's RJ Practitioners.
  • Accessing Police systems to review cases and provide case updates to practitioners.
  • Making regular contact with the Remedi practitioners to follow up cases, data and paperwork for files and monitoring purposes.
  • Ensuring the case management system and relevant databases are kept up to date and accurate.
  • Attending regular team and partner agency meetings and producing accurate and detailed minutes of those meetings.
  • Being the main point of contact for the Greater Manchester RJ Hub freephone, undertaking any direct correspondence from victims and partner agencies when required.
  • Providing management with up to date and accurate data when requested from the case management system and databases.
The skills and qualities you will need to do the job well are:

COMMUNICATION:

You will need to have excellent communication skills, which will involve listening and responding to what is being said so people will feel supported, valued, and prepared to engage in the service.

This may also involve signposting to other agencies for support.

You will also need to always remain professional when communicating with Partner agencies, service users and colleagues.


FLEXIBILITY:
You will be required to work flexible hours from Monday-Friday that meet the needs of the service.


MOTIVATION:
The role is very rewarding and enables people affected by crime (both victims and perpetrators) to cope and recover.

An ability to work on your own initiative and identify areas of administration which can be delivered and streamlined for a more effective service is essential.

This is not your average Administration role, it is very fast paced and demanding at times.

You will be lone working a lot of the time taking phone calls and checking in and out with practitioners who will be working across Cheshire to support their safety and providing them with risk information about cases.

There will be an expectation you always promote and raise awareness of the service positively.

We want you to be the type of person that will see this as a challenge you want to meet because when it is achieved, lives are changed.


You will need to be organised and prompt in navigating systems and providing the Remedi Practitioners and Manager with relevant information and support.


IT CAPABLE:
It is essential that you are proficient in using:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Microsoft Teams


You will be required to record, monitor, and collate statistics and feedback gathered from service users on electronic IT systems.

Accurate and up to date information is essential.

WHAT TO EXPECT:


  • The role is based in our RJ Hub at Greater Manchester Police Force Headquarters (M40 5BP).
  • You may be required to travel to Sheffield and other areas in which Remedi work for training and staff development purposes. Expenses for such travel will be covered.
  • Internal and external training will be delivered. The expectation is that you engage in this training and implement it within your working life.
  • Your Line Manager will be the Greater Manchester RJ Service Operational Manager. You will have regular 1:1s and they will be available for support and guidance where needed.

  • Starting salary £18,965 (Actual £13,546) rising to £19,565 (Actual £13,975) at the end of Year 2 in role
  • 6% employer pension contribution
  • 26 days leave per annum plus bank holidays.
