Our client is a fast paced and successful business who due to growth and success are looking to recruit a number of new positions.
The opportunity has arisen to join the firm in the role of Senior Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in the Northwest,providing commercially pragmatic, reliable, and accurate advice across a variety of legal, regulatory and compliance issues.
This opportunity would suit a Solicitor with FCA regulatory experience seeking to gain invaluable in-house legal experience.What will you be accountable for?
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you would join an existing in-house team and handle a broad range of legal matters including:
- Providing legal advice to the Financial Services Division and Executive on FCA regulated matters.
- Reviewing and approving papers for Board and Executive committee.
- Working closely with the FCA Compliance team on strategic projects, SMCR and BAU activity.
- Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements. Providing legal advice and counsel to senior leaders and managers.
- Identifying and managing legal risk, providing relevant training to stakeholders.
- Providing legal and commercial input to change projects, supporting the HR team and working with Procurement.
- Keeping abreast of new legislation that may impact the business and providing commercial focussed updates.
- Conducting legal research to support the business with its objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining contract management systems and processes.
- Supporting development of team members and providing training to internal stakeholders. Working with external counsel and advisers.
- Support the Head of Legal and General Counsel in their roles.
Who are we looking for?
- Have 5+ years PQE dealing with a range of legal issues
- A focus on FCA regulated activity would be a significant advantage
- You will demonstrate a keen interest in financial services and the retail sector and a desire to work within an inhouse team
- Can communicate effectively at all levels of the business and have good people management skills
- Be able to demonstrate commercial acumen.
- Be able to work in a fastpaced environment
