Temporary Role - 3 months with possible extension:
£18.34 per hour PAYE / £23.
46 per hour Umbrella:

This role is largely office based in SW18 (Wandsworth). There is no option for complete remote working.

The Role
- You will allocate accommodation and ensure agreements are signed with tenants for all Temporary Accommodation types, in accordance with Richmond and Wandsworth's Temporary Accommodation policy, guidance and procedures.
- Providing appropriate information, advice and guidance to applicants with a focus on managing customer's housing expectations.
- Ensuring properties are allocated and agreements signed with tenants as quickly as possible so that void turnaround times are kept to a minimum.
- Setting up tenancies and accounts for the properties allocated in order that the council maximise the income from rents charged
Key Responsibilities
- To procure Nightly Paid Accommodation, to meet the needs of homeless clients to whom the Council has a statutory responsibility.
- Allocation of all Temporary Accommodation
- Nightly Paid accommodation/Bed and Breakfast/Private Leased Annexes/Private Sector Leasing, to families presenting as homeless, in accordance with Richmond and Wandsworth Councils Temporary Allocation Placement Policy, and the Suitability Order (Housing Act 1996).
- When required initiate the transfer of clients to more suitable Temporary Accommodation or refer clients for nomination to longer term settled accommodation.
- Negotiating with managing agents to maximise procurement opportunities in line with procedures to demonstrate best use of financial resources to reach an optimum portfolio mix.
- To ensure properties are suitably allocated and signed up as quickly as possible so that void turnaround times are kept to a minimum.
- In addition, set up tenancies and accounts for the properties allocated in order that the council maximise the income from rents charged.
- To carry out visits to Nightly Paid Accommodation, when necessary, with suppliers to ensure procurement of both good quality and suitable accommodation.
- Ensure that section 208 notices are drafted and sent to local authorities where a placement is made out of the borough.
- Also keep records of section 208 notices for placements made in Richmond and Wandsworth.
- To maintain accurate records, ensuring that all databases and computerised records are managed and updated regularly.
- Any other duties reasonably requested by management.
- Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council's Policies and Procedures.
