About the Role


The Associate Dean for Research and Innovation is central to the effective leadership and management of the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Medicine.

As a member of the Faculty Senior Leadership Team you will have shared responsibility for developing and leading the Faculty to ensure its long-term sustainability.

Providing visionary leadership, you will assist in the further development of a culture of high performance and will provide leadership, vision and direction to staff within the Faculty.


The post holder will be expected to lead broader aspects of activities within the Faculty including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.


About You


An experienced researcher and academic, you will have a national and international research profile in an area which complements and aligns to current Faculty research.

You will have excellent strategic leadership skills and substantial experience of developing and delivering research support programmes and initiatives.

You must also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of research priorities, considerations, challenges and opportunities in the contemporary HEI environment.

You will have an established track record of building and sustaining successful local, national and international research partnerships and a good understanding of key drivers and priorities within health and social care.


The successful applicant will be flexible and positive, with an excellent ability to lead and motivate others with an inclusive and engaging team building ethos and focus.
