About the role


As a Compliance and Ethics Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), sanctions, and other compliance programs in multiple offices across the firm.

As an Assistant you will also provide support to staff in the Office of General Counsel, completing special projects when required.


Other key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting corporate research on client and nonclient parties in potential new matters to screen for matches against sanctions lists and lists of Politically Exposed Persons.
  • Researching client and nonclient parties in potential new matters to screen for adverse findings (including negative news) that present reputational, business and/or other risk to the Firm.
  • Assisting with the Firm's sanctions compliance program, including the screening of client, nonclient party, vendor, and vendor beneficiary bank names against sanctions lists.
  • Responding to questions from lawyers and secretaries in multiple offices regarding Know Your Client ("KYC") documentation requirements.
  • Supporting project requests from the conflicts team, Ethics Committee, Client Intake Committee, the Deputy General Counsel, and others.
