Job description

Leeds Beckett University is an exciting, modern university in one of the most vibrant student cities in the UK, with a deep commitment to sustainability in all its forms.

The university has recently published its new Sustainability Strategy, which sets out our ambitions and targets for sustainability across the whole organisation, with sustainable travel and transport being a key element.

Reporting to the Sustainability Officer, you will manage our dedicated BikeFix workshop at our Headingley campus, teach staff and students how to maintain their bikes, hire and maintain our fleet of bikes, work with the University of Leeds to support their bike hire scheme and work with colleagues and partners to promote active travel.

You will be an experienced bike mechanic with the ability to explain and demonstrate to others what you are doing with excellent organisational, administrative and customer service skills.

Naturally, you'll be an enthusiastic advocate of cycling.

The role will be based at Headingley Campus but will involve hybrid working and working at the City Campus when needed.

Working here means you'll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.
