Description

Based out of our Hartlebury office, we develop, simulate and test powertrain systems for integration into vehicles and new test fields.

We are recruiting a H&S Officer, who will be involved in regular UK travel to cover health & safety projects for theinstallation and servicing of our products.

Working hours:
pm Mon-Thursday and pm on Friday.

The role of the Health & Safety Officer will be to:

  • Liaise with the internal site project team and the clients representatives to ensure effective communication
  • Review contractor risk assessments and competences
  • Carry out site audits and prepare KPIs, internal ISO 45001 audits and participation in external certification audits
  • Carrying out new starter and onsite inductions, onsite awareness & tool box talks
  • Developing and carrying out training.
  • Regular UK travel covering the Health & Safety of projects and the installation and servicing of AVL UK equipment and systems on customer sites
  • Investigate accidents and ensuring legal compliance and adherence to best practice.
  • Carry out health and safety audits and issue reports for improvements.

The ideal Health & Safety Office will be:

  • Educated to Minimum NEBOSH Level 3 certificate in occupational health and safety or equivalent
  • Ideally be experience in an engineering industry
  • Possess an indepth knowledge of health & safety legislation, guidance and in particular the current CDM regulations, experience in CDM site management advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence, and valid passport, with the ability to travel overseas when required(Head office or QHSE annual meeting)
