Theorise is looking for a Personal Assistant to work with one of our Glasgow based clients.

Working as part of Theorise external support team, the successful Personal Assistant will work on a one-to-one basis with a student to assist a student who has had a stroke within their Cookery course.

The Personal Assistant will be required to assist the student within their class setting up work stations; moving materials and setting up appliances for the student to ensure they can follow the teaching requirements.


Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide onetoone support to a student, meeting them before class and working through their timetable to assist them within their porgramme.
  • Assisting the student in classes by setting up materials, moving and lifting items e.g. pots and pans, setting up applicances and following required instructions.
  • To maintain a professional role as a Personal Assistant and be aware of the need to always maintain this positive but professional working relationship with the student.
  • Deliver support according to Theorise and each of our clients' guidelines and codes of conduct.
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required.
  • Manage paperwork effectively, i.e. completing time sheets and any reports required.
  • You will be expected to represent Theorise in a professional manner, this includes adhering to our policies regarding confidentiality and safeguarding.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience required

  • We expect you to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a willingness to support students with particular needs, and an approachable, patient and understanding manner.
  • Experience of working with students in a higher education environment or having experience in studying at college or university level is preferable.
  • Experience in working with individuals who have had health and mobility issues is highly desierable.

Job Type:
Temporary contract


Salary:
£17.50 per hour
