Responsible for Business Development in the rapidly growing area of Consumer Segments Logistics/e-commerce/smart warehousing. This role will be key in helping generate, deliver and promote the local and global strategies.

Leverage the market coverage givenby Front End Sales and Account managers, working hand in hand, to build a profitable business and long-term customer relationships.

Description

Volume and profit:
Sell systems/products/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups.


Customer relations:

Works with End Users and System Integrators to develop the business in our Consumer Segment (that includes Food & Bev, Pharma) but more importantly the potential customers in our Service Robotics business,to uncover projects in 3PL, e-commerce, logistics and warehousing where the customers have every increasing challenges with demand, and are looking for initiative robotics and automation solutions to answer their problems.


Sales plans:
Works hand in hand with Front End Sales and Account Managers to Prepare sales plans using company tools. Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.


Sales:

Creates added value for the customer and ensures the successful outcome of transactions, contracts, and proposals by using effective sales techniques and providing well informed technical advice.

Communicates detailsin accordance with ABB offering and strategy (delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions).


New market opportunities:

Identifies and drives the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.


Administration:
Manages administrative procedures in sales processes and supports collection and project management activities when needed. This should include pipeline management via a CRM tool (SalesForce preferred, butnot essential).


Marketing:
Work alongside your customer and the marketing team to provide references and success stories.


Offer preparation:
Prepares offers in coordination with the Back Office Commercial department. Ensures appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.


Risk:
Monitors client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal teams. Responsible for identifying and managing risk s relating to contract agreements and prices across customers/channels/segments


People and development:
Work alongside your peers in the team, as well as the management team.

Profile

  • A University degree or equivalent in engineering, preferably with experience within the Consumer Segments/Pharma/E-Commerce/Logistics segments
  • More than 5 years' experience in Business development/consultative sales.
  • Having the strategic thinking to define a go to market strategy in the industrial sectors under his/her responsibility.
  • Strong negotiation skills, good communicator, empathetic, strong technical background, curious and open to learn new technologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proactive, problemsolving professional that is very much results oriented
  • Strategic view.
  • Strong English language skills and intercultural competence
