We have an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, high-performing and well-regarded administrative team as a Patient Pathway Administrator (PPA) within Trauma and Orthopaedics at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.


The PPA is a significant role and a key member of our administrative team supporting multidisciplinary clinicians and ensuring that patient's letters are typed in a timely manner.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality, timely and efficient administrative services to our service to allow our patients to move smoothly along their hospital pathways for best possible and timely care.


The post holder will deliver high-quality and timely administrative services that include typing clinical letters and ensuring patient's test results are tracked efficiently.

Experience of medical terminology is an advantage and some form of typing experience is desirable, but not essential.


The role is based on-site at the Queen's Medical Centre with the option for one day working at home when fully trained.


The post-holder will deliver administrative services that include writing clinic letters to patients and GPs, based on audio dictation from clinicians; ensure accurate entry of data to ensure patient's test results are tracked; work flexibly and step-in where needed in administration to allow the service to continue to grow and improve; support each other and work as One Team.

Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance and urgency of particular requests within defined guidelines.

Exchange sensitive or contentious information with diplomacy and in a confidential manner.


Adopt a flexible attitude to meet the needs of the surgery service, taking into consideration the diverse needs of other individuals.

Promote an open, friendly, inclusive working environment.
