Putting in place the right digital infrastructure across the country is an equally big challenge for our time, and a top priority for the Prime Minister.

The Digital Infrastructure directorate leads on making this happen - setting policies to promote investment and protect national security, whilst running innovative pilot programmes for the next generation of technology.

We play a leading role across government, delivering new commercial deals, policy and legislation, and work closely with No.10, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and key Whitehall delivery departments as well as industry, Ofcom and international partners to achieve our goals

Job description:

There is one role presented in this recruitment campaign, which sits within the Digital Infrastructure Investment team, part of the Broadband Regulation and Investment Team (BRIT).

Role - Head of VHTR Policy Liaison

The Digital Infrastructure Investment team is responsible for new policy initiatives to encourage improvements in broadband services. Some premises are particularly challenging, deemed 'very hard to reach', and may require novel technology and policy solutions.

This role will lead liaison on some of these projects, including our trials of new satellite and hybrid network technologies, subsequent monitoring of our satellite grant programme, and other bespoke policy interventions.

We anticipate that this role will interface with stakeholders benefiting from, and organisations supporting or delivering these trials.

This will also include collaboration with Digital Infrastructure Future Network Programme, DEFRA's Future Farming team, and potentially elements of BDUK.

This role will also line manage one Band B resource, a VHTR Policy Liaison Officer, who will support the analytical, policy and some administrative work relating these exciting initiatives.
