Grade UE03:
£21,978 to £22,681 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £22,214 to £24,248 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)


College of Science and Engineering/School of Chemistry/Student Support Team

Full-time: 35 hours per week (we are open to considering part-time or flexible working pattern)
**Fixed-term contract: 3rd June to 23rd August (12 weeks)


The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Student Support Intern to help us review and develop our engagement with new students. The post-holder will research different students' needs and be supported to prepare engaging content and assist with events.

The intern will contribute directly into making us more accessible, supporting us to articulate the school's features and helping a diverse group of students transition to university and thrive.


This is an on Campus internship, open to all 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh.

We are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.

We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis), combining a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The successful applicant must be in Edinburgh during the internship.

on Campus is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University departments and Schools.

It offers exclusive summer internships at the University over the summer for 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK.

You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A current 2 nd, 3 rd or penultimate year undergraduate student within the University of Edinburgh
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, resourceful and enthusiastic to learn new skills and technologies
  • Comfortable balancing working independently and with multiple different people
  • A strong sense of service delivery and motivation to help others
