The University of East London are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department of Bioscience to join our team.

As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our Bioscience department, ensuring that we continue to deliver outstanding teaching and research.


Sitting within the school's Management Team, you will work closely with the Director of Education & Experience, Director of Impact & Innovation, Director of Career & Enterprise, School Quality Leader, and Dean of School to deliver the school's KPIs and an outstanding student experience within a robust research environment.

A detailed understanding of contemporary aspects of bioscience practice at regional and national level is essential to the role.

Furthermore, evidence of your leadership and management of programme team(s) in HE, including extensive experience of curriculum development and management of relevant programmes; development of lab-based learning for bioscience professionals; placement learning for placement year students, including audit and risk management, will also be essential.


Additionally, you should have the ability to engage in strategic planning, motivate, mentor, and support others, and work and deliver against deadlines.
