We are looking for a Head of Manufacturing to join our Nuneaton-based Operations team.

The Person:

As the Head of Manufacturing, you will be a strategic thinker and a strong leader with a deep understanding of the food production industry.

You should possess excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team of manufacturing professionals.

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven individual, who is restless in their desire to see growth and improvement in both their people and their processes.

The Role:

The Head of Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing the overall manufacturing operations and associated functions at our Nuneaton facility (operations, engineering and facilities).

You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production of our food products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a crucial role in driving operational efficiency, optimising productivity, and fostering a culture of safety within the factory.

Responsibilities:

Team Management: Lead, inspire, and motivate a team of manufacturing and engineering professionals. Provide coaching, guidance, and support to foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability. Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

Strategic Leadership: develop and implement the manufacturing strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

Cost optimisation: Develop and deliver budgeted levels of labour/material variance, site overheads and cost improvement targets. Ensure full P&L accountability for all areas of your responsibility.

Production Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop production plans and schedules to meet customer demand. Monitor production levels, optimise resource allocation, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the best service levels are received by our customers.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost reduction.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, food safety standards, and legal requirements. Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices to ensure the facility operates at the forefront of manufacturing excellence.

Waste management: lead the site team's commitment to reducing waste and costs.

Requirements:

Experience (5+ years) in food operations in a similar level managerial or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, food manufacturing processes, quality control standards and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing and developing teams.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Proficient in using computer technology such as Redzone for data analysis and reporting.
