An experienced trainer to support the Health Literacy training programme across the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Integrated Care System (ICS).

Several definitions exist for Health Literacy but put simply, Health literacy is about peoples' ability to understand and use information regarding their health.

The North East and North Cumbria Healthier and Fairer programme is supporting a work stream to improve health literacy both within communities and especially within organisations and systems.

The NENC ICS Health Literacy Steering Group have agreed on a strategic vision for Health Literacy that includes the development of a regional training programme:

to achieve a consistency of approach and understanding across the public sector workforce and to increase the number of public sector staff confident to enable improved health literacy.
