I am recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel role to join an organisation based near to Basildon in Essex.This role will cover a 12-month Maternity Leave contract and my client is looking to pay in the region of £80000 per annum.
My client is also offeringhybrid working.
The Legal Advisor will be responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents (e.g., commercial agreements, employment contracts, commercial leases and resolutions) in accordance with relevant legislation, and advise the business on day-to-day legal matters.
You will ensure the commercial aspirations of the business can be met by mitigating the risks associated with the commercial proposals.
Job Role:
- Provide effective, reliable, and userfriendly support, advice, and assistance to members of the company
- Review and understand all current contractual and statutory obligations and liabilities
- Review, draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of legal and commercial documents which may include lease agreements, licences, easements, heads of terms, terminal service agreements, general commercial and property agreements, construction contracts,collateral warranties, goods and services agreements, nondisclosure agreements, deeds of novation, correspondence with regulatory bodies and third parties, port terms and conditions, purchase order terms and conditions
- Identify and analyse legal issues arising from transactions, business strategies, initiatives, and new projects.
The Person:
- Strong academic achievements
- Law Degree from an accredited university
- Inhouse / Private practice experience
- 7 years + PQE
Skills:
- Good knowledge of law related to commercial contracts, commercial property transactions, general corporate, planning, construction, health and safety and environmental law is essential
- Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills
- Exceptional client liaison skills
- Knowledge of the EU procurement rules
- Previous inhouse experience is desirable
