Head of Communications and External Affairs - Liverpool City Centre - Up to 35k - Music and Entertainment
Our client was founded over 170 years ago and now has over 350,000 people attend their events every year.

At the core of their work is one of the UK's oldest orchestras and choirs as well as their youth company and associated ensembles, which has over 73,000 participants.

They also work closely with the NHS on their _Music and Mental Health Programme,_ which has had a positive impact on over 12,000 people since the programme's inception over a decade ago.

Their aim is to have a profound impact on their local and wider communities through music.


They are now looking to bring in a new Head of Communications and External Affairs to execute their vision for growth.

The aim for this role is to develop new audiences and grow key relationships with local and national governments as well as other partner organisations.

In this role, you will be sitting within the wider Audience and Development team and will be reporting directly into the Executive Director, Audience and Development.


This role will be based in their office space, in the heart of Liverpool City Centre, with the option to discuss hybrid working.

There may be some weekend and evening work required but this will be included within the 35 hour week.


Day to day responsibilities:


  • Improving the overall PR and communication strategy and activities
  • Manage press relationships and activities such as writing press releases, organising events and organising interviews
  • Host pre and post concert events
  • Oversee the team of Programme Editors and Designers to ensure all concert programme production is in line with the brand's vision
  • Assist in the writing of copy for social media alongside the Digital Marketing Manager to increase engagement

What you'll need:


  • At least fours years of experience within a communications focused role
  • Experience creating engaging and creative media campaigns
  • Strong understanding of Social Media
  • Highly organised and detail oriented
  • Experience of working with both internal and external stakeholders
