Description

The Targeted lung health programme will enable the early detection of lung cancer in order to save lives by early intervention and will produce a dataset which will be utilised to improve the identification and outcome of individuals with a high risk of developing lung cancer.

In particular personal and lifestyle data used to generate lung cancer risk scores and clinical data relating to lung cancer diagnosis will contribute to a greater understanding of early detection methodology, improving future implementation

  • You will be carrying out telephone assessments to those patients that are classed as high risk
  • Liaising with GP services
  • Working on the CT scanner, undertaking patients vital observations
  • Communicating delicate information to patients
Answering telephones
- registering and discharge patients
- sending out invite letters to eligible patients

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London


This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).


  • You will be completing telephone Lung health assessments, to patients who maybe eligible for the programme
  • Liaise with patients GP
- undertake difficult and changing calls to patients who are not eligible to take part in the progarmme

Work on the mobile CT scanner

  • Answer phone calls from patients
- register/discharge patients/ use waiting lists on systemone
