About The Role

About you


You would ideally have prior experience of being able to plan a programme, publicise and communicate the programme, ensuring that all residents have access and to accompany the residents on outings as the Activities Supervisor, ensuring adequate provision of care staff and that all safety standards are met.


Job Overview
As an Activities Supervisor, you will be overseeing the daily acitivities at the Care Home.

We would like you to develop meaningful occupational therapies, deliver engaging sessions and support events and outings with the residents to ensure that their quality of life is enhanced.

You will be responsible for organising a programme of appropriate, therapeutic, and recreational activities which may include craft classes, music, films, quizzes, bingo, reminiscence and entertainment.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

  • Provide leadership and supervision to the activities coordinators, ensuring that they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Organise and plan activity programmes reflecting the service users preferences
  • Produce newsletter to inform residents and their relatives/friends what is going on
  • Support the residents to access internet and communication such as letter writing, Skype, and FaceTime
  • Plan events within the homes allocated budget
  • Ensure the residents are at the heart of events and programs to enhance their wellbeing
  • Use social media to promote upcoming activities to family members and wider community.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the individuals you are supporting
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in activities programming, staying informed about best practices,
  • Working with Others Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service
  • Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people in the service
  • Lead by example and seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
