Midland Mencap are looking to recruit a Carers Hub Co-ordinator to work along side the Operations Manager at our Walsall Carers Hub and Community venues across the Borough.


The purpose of the job is the support the Operations Manager in ensuring the services offered are consistently high quality, by using Person Centered Approaches to determine individual needs, and inform the the strategic development of the service to meet the needs of all unpaid carers and their families.

to work along side colleagues across the Public and Third Sectors in Walsall and the West Midlands and other staff of Midland Mencap services to develop an organisational approach to supporting unpaid carers.


To assist in proactively identify unpaid carers families including via GPs, Hospitals, schools, social services and voluntary agencies and self-referrals.


To oversee the day to day work of staff and volunteers to ensure a person centered approach underpins the support given to all unpaid carers and their families.


To support the Operations Manager to maintain an awareness and contribute to national, regional and local good practice in working with unpaid carers and families and ensure that the staff team are able to deliver, identify and evidence positive outcomes for all.


To empower unpaid carers to fully participate in the development and monitoring of internal and external services, and to represent carers concerns and issues.

To assist in producing reports, research and strategies to inform management, board and external stakeholders.


To assist with organising events and activities and seek funding for additional project development or wellbeing opportunities for unpaid carers thereby raising awareness of unpaid carers issues.

Successful applicant to pay costs of enhanced DBS

£13.01 per hour

Experience:

- general ICT skills: 1 year (required)
- working with diverse & hard to reach communities: 1 year (required)
- working with learning disabled people & families: 1 year (required)

- supervising: 1 year (required)
