Leicestershire County Care Ltd has been successfully running Residential Care Homes within the Midlands area for over 10 years.

We are currently seeking a Cook for Thurn Court, Care Home.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include, but not limited to;

  • Food knowledge with the ability to cook and present fresh food to a consistently high standard.
  • Ensure the kitchen is run efficiently, and high standards of cleanliness and hygiene of a fivestar rated kitchen are maintained.
  • Supporting other catering staff to deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality and safety are maintained.
  • Maintaining full awareness of menu content, service procedures and any other relevant information.
  • Ensure all documentation is kept up to date according to current legislation; Health & Safety, COSHH regulations and food safety.
  • Advising the Home Manager and Care Services staff concerning any changes in a resident's dietary habits, in particular reporting and noting any instances where a resident refuses food.
  • At least one years' experience of catering chef experience.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Flexible to work all shifts.
  • Ability to communicate and manage interpersonal relationships.
  • Good nutritional understanding and leadership skills.
  • A friendly and cheerful disposition.
  • Team player, decisive, selfmotivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable individual.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a desire to deliver good service to our elderly residents during their meal times.

The hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience.

£11.00-£11.42 per hour
