Description
Home. There's no place like it. And there's no feeling like helping people create the joy of feeling truly at home.

At Dunelm, that's what we do.

  • We're the UK's number one choice for homewares because we make home life lovelier for our customers. And the caring and supportive culture we've created makes this a place you'll feel right at home too.

Join our Tech Team and you'll not only be part of stimulating projects that are making an impact across our business, you'll be somewhere you can build a long-term career that always promises to challenge and excite.

Find your happy place.

About the department
You might not think it, but remaining the first choice for savvy homeware-shoppers involves some advanced tech.

We've recently made our whole company serverless, making us the largest user of AWS Lambdas in Europe (second in the world), and we're bringing more and more tech into our stores.

The Agile Delivery Lead is key to evolving our ways of working and should be an experienced practitioner in agile techniques.

We want to drive continuous improvement across our teams, our community, and our business. There will be opportunities to do this at all levels as we continue to evolve our business. We value your experience and your opinions.

So, to help us to evolve you will need to form new and develop existing ideas from within the business as well as your own network from outside of the business.

The Role

  • Drive continuous improvement through the team using agile/lean methods, flow metrics and coaching/mentoring and supporting where needed
  • Working with and managing our partner's delivery budgets to ensure the best value for Dunelm.
  • Help the team build and deliver their roadmap items through continuous improvement, breaking work down into small, frequent releases
  • Collaborate with wider engineering teams on joint initiatives and work that spans all teams and focus areas.
  • Engage with different chapters across Dunelm; Delivery, Engineering, Quality, Product, Business Analysis
  • Manage work and dependencies across multiple internal and external partner teams.
  • Ability to operate in a fastpaced environment, manage stakeholders and be a point of escalation for the team and manage stakeholders

Behaviours/Values

  • We value 'leading' over 'telling' so it is important you are a selfaware leader who can communicate at all levels of the business to influence and empower others. You'll work closely with other Agile Delivery Leads, Principal Delivery Leads, Product chapter, Engineering chapter and Quality chapter to support, deliver and implement project and initiative outcomes.
  • You'll be visible leading by example and helping create a community of empowerment and trust.
  • Respected as a Servant/Leader of teams who can act as a leader as well as a supportive team member. You will have excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaboratively work across technical, leadership and business teams. Delivery practitioners will require a growth mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and suggest new ways of working and spearhead their adoption.
  • You'll be able to foster selforganisation, enabling the team to make decisions and remove decisionmaking barriers whenever possible. You will be an excellent facilitator of discussion.
  • You will be passionate about delivering highquality endtoend outcomes with a focus on value for our customers. You will utilise your experience as a seasoned Delivery person to implement methods best suited to complex business opportunities at all levels. You will have an approach of small incremental improvements over a big bang.
  • Sought out across the business for your skills in coaching and collaboration, especially with agile techniques. You'll be able to flex between different stances to achieve the best from the stakeholders and teams.
  • You will collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure that you are a close team working together with high levels of communication. A close relationship will be needed to ensure that you are all aware of the budgets, value and when we will deliver.
  • We believe in bringing people together to make decisions and great products. This means you will operate across the teams building relationships to create a strong network across technology and business areas. We want you to be able to coach and collaborate to realize opportunities for ways of working improvements across these areas.
  • We have a vibrant delivery chapter, and you will be part of that. We will learn, fail, evolve, and innovate together. We want someone who can be part of our journey in this.
  • We work with our 3rd party partners in helping us to achieve the best value for Dunelm. You will need to build up a lasting mutual relationship. You'll be able to challenge and develop ways of working to ensure that Dunelm and the 3rd parties are operating in a harmonious partnership.
