  • Connecting people to nature and local farms through structured, specialist programmes and community activity to help improve wellbeing and engender an appreciation and value of the natural environment and the Mendip Hills National Landscape (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
  • Tailoring programmes by working with partners to meet the needs of vulnerable participants and embedding public engagement and green social prescribing into the Mendip Hills National Landscape Team.
  • Working closely with partner organisations, volunteers, and colleagues, managing a project budget, and completing monitoring and evaluation.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be.

But it will really help if you:

  • A degree or higher, plus relevant qualifications and/or at least 3 years' work experience in the field of mental health and/or nature and wellbeing, having worked closely with volunteers and diverse communities.
  • A good knowledge and experience of the benefits of nature in supporting mental health, the health care and countryside sectors, safeguarding, data protection, health & safety, and Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Ability to devise and deliver creative and engaging activities and provide sensitive motivation and support to participants.
  • Good organisational, administrative, communication (written and verbal), report writing, presentation and IT skills.
  • A full driving licence with access to a vehicle (due to frequent need to travel across the area and to remote areas).
We're proud to be here for the people of Somerset. And that means everyone in Somerset.

An important part of this is ensuring that we are as diverse and inclusive as the people and communities we serve.
