Healthy Futures Cookery Mentor

MAIN TASK


Bryson Care's 'Healthy Futures' Home and Community Based Service aims to increase the skills of parents/caregivers and individuals to enable healthier lifestyles.

The main aim is to support and enable mentoring of new skills for up to 6 weeks, to enhance a healthier future.

Our focus is to work with parents/caregivers and individuals to overcome the stresses that are impacting daily and affecting their ability to create new approaches in their lives, intervention will be up to 6 weeks.

The support will be delivered in relation to nutrition, cooking, healthy lunch boxes or crisis intervention to address other areas that the parent/caregiver/individual may have raised that is causing stress.


Parents/Caregivers/Individuals

  • Develop a positive relationship with Service Users which promotes confidence and builds self esteem
  • Discuss the stresses that the service user is experiencing
  • Discuss the impact of the stresses that the service user is experiencing and offer appropriate guidance
  • Establish a plan in partnership with service user as to what changes need to be made and how these changes will be achieved
  • Encourage social contact to decrease social isolation (i.e., appointment keeping, community events etc)
  • Discuss any external barriers which, may be impacting on the service user's life and offer appropriate support by accompanying or signposting to other local community resources and services

Job Type:
Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months


Salary:
£12.44 per hour
