Job summary:
As a member of the Quality, Safety Assurance & Governance (QSA&G) team you will be responsible for supporting the SEO SA&G lead in the successful execution of organisational and Prime Contractor (PC) Safety Assurance and Governance activities.
You will carry out these responsibilities in accordance with UK legislation, MOD policies and standards to deliver MODSAP strategic directives and objectives.
While this post is UK based, the SEO SA&G Lead is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.This presents the role holder with particular opportunities in workload autonomy, flexible working and exposure to senior civilian and military staff.
There will also be opportunities for international travel.The role holder will still benefit from regular in-person communication with the G7 QSA&G Team Lead in the London office.
Reporting directly to the SEO SA&G lead, you will have responsibilities for discharging the UK MoD's Safety and Quality Assurance obligations in support of the Saudi-British Defence Cooperation Programme (SBDCP).
The successful applicant will support the provision of independent Safety and Quality assurance services including support to MODSAP staff in the acquisition and in-service support of aircraft, ships, equipment, services and facilities.
Supporting the SEO SA&G lead in the sustainment of MODSAP's Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring effective implementation of MODSAP Aviation and Naval safety policy and processes to achieve the Defence Permanent Secretary's safety delegation to Director MODSAP.
Supporting and assisting the SEO QSA&G lead in maintaining and coordinating Governance, Assurance and Improvement (GAI) organisational requirements as per JSP 940 Part 2.
A working knowledge of the Aviation Industry and a proven ability to effectively communicate with industry and military personnel at various levels is essential.

Key Responsibilities
The UK SA&G HEO responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety Assurance - Primary Role
Safety Assurance and Governance activity, engaging with MODSAP and Prime Contractor (PC) Safety Policy and Functional staff
Specific tasks include:
- Support assurance to the performance of PC SMS iaw its approved policies, processes and procedures.
- Support assurance of PC safety assurance plans and monitoring implementation.
- Support activities that assure UK and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based MODSAP staff are conducting their safety assurance responsibilities iaw the MODSAP strategies, plans and delegations.
- Conduct meeting administration activities at the biannual Safety Committees, such as production of minutes/Record of Actions and Decisions (ROADs).
- Host the PC and/or RSAF representatives during official UK visits.
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of MODSAP internal Assurance Policies, Strategies and Plans.
- Support to the organisation and conducting second party SA audits to assess performance and identify and monitor risks/concerns.
- Support SEO SA&G in the management of the Independent Safety Advisor (ISA) contract.
- Provide support to the QSA&G SEO lead in delivering MODSAP's QA obligations in accordance with the GovernmenttoGovernment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
- Continuous Improvement (CI)
- Support the Business Improvement Manager with the implementation of approved business improvement projects and activities.
Person specification:
- It is essential that the successful applicant be experienced, skilled and able to support maintenance of an effective SMS and supporting a Quality Management System (QMS). A clear understanding of the advantages of Continuous Improvement and of fostering a positive Safety & Quality culture is needed. Coupled with risk management and excellent communication skills.
