Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role in quality assurance? Do you have excellent organisational and communication skills? This is a great opportunity to join the UKHSA as a Quality Administrator You will work in one of the Culture Collections Unit, which is part of the Reference Service Unit.

You will mainly be based at the Porton site, but you will also need to travel to the Colindale site.

The high quality biological resources (Such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and cell cultures) from the Culture Collections Unit are used and cited by laboratories around the world for various purposes, such as developing and testing new techniques, drugs, vaccines and diagnostics


As a Quality Administrator, you will be supporting the Lead Quality Assurance Manager in ensuring the quality of our culture collections.

You will manage and maintain the Q-Pulse Document Control system, which includes preparing and formatting controlled documents. You will also keep the documentation administration and monitoring up to date and accurate. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to the Quality Assurance Team and perform ad hoc tasks as required. Furthermore, you will monitor the Culture Collections Training Matrix and assist with new staff inductions

Job description:


Responsibilities section:

The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

  • Support the Lead Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that the quality system meets appropriate accreditation requirements e.g., ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:201
  • To maintain the Q-Pulse Quality Management System by carrying out administration of all controlled documents on the Q-Pulse Quality Management System e.g; SOP's, Forms and Work Instructions and
  • Provide relevant assistance and deliver basic training to Culture Collections staff on the use of the Q-Pulse Quality Management
  • Confidentially manage controlled documents which contain sensitive
  • To prepare status reports from the Q-Pulse Quality Management System for workload analysis and performance
  • To provide administrative support to the Quality Assurance Team and customer audits.
  • To organise, scan and file Manufacturing Batch Records for Culture Collections products, To manage the uploading of Certificates of Analysis for Culture Collections products to the website.
  • Organise meetings including taking meeting minutes, booking meeting rooms, liaising with attendees and arrange
  • Write and update Standard Operating Procedures which describe the processes involved in activities carried out by the post
  • To liaise with Culture Collections staff at other UKHSA sites, this may require occasional travel to UKHSA Colindale.

Essential Criteria:


Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications at C or above in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative environment using computerised data systems
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

Desirable

  • Knowledge of working with Quality Management Systems
