Planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the transport fleet

Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers' hours
Ensuring workload is delegated accordingly and drivers understand all instructions
Producing optimal transport plans and approving transport routes
Assisting the Transport Planning Manager to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively
Monitoring the Transport Management software
Liaising with our depots and customers as required on deliveries and any issues

Ensuring the department complies with health and safety legislation
Producing cost efficient operational transport plans daily, using specific customer IT software
Providing a vital link between sales and operational teams
Ensuring the department provides a quality first class service to the customer though careful planning
Ensuring all activities are in line with budgeting
Previous experience in transport planning
Knowledge of Transport legislation
Confident with MS Office
Knowledge of Mandata, Samsara, TruTac or similar systems
Excellent attention to detail
Experience of leading a small team
Driven and selfmotivated
Proactive problemsolving capability
Able to work to deadlines and meet targets
Excellent communication skills both verbal and face to face
Team Player

Shift pattern is Night shift

Sunday to Thursday 8pm until 6am
