Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well established client in Newcastle city centre who are looking for an experienced Income Support Officer to join their Accounts Receivable team on a permanentbasis.

This is an office-basedrole with the option of some remote working.

Working in a busy finance team, your main duties will include:

  • Collection of overdue payments
  • Supporting collection by working closely with customers via appropriate communication channels (including virtual meetings)
  • Proactive reduction of the total debt amount.
  • Provide customers with guidance on how to access third party financial support.
  • Monthly reporting and management of levels of arrears
  • Ensure all systems are updated.
  • Instruct and followup legal proceedings where other interventions fail

You will have:

  • Experience in supporting individuals through affordability struggles and maximising their income.
  • Knowledge of external third party services that can further support with personal financial management
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Able to demonstrate high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in income or benefit services for a Housing Association or Registered Provider
  • At least 1 year's previous Credit Control/Accounts Receivable experience
  • Basic understanding of the legal system relevant to credit control i.e. small claims
