Purchase Ledger Clerk****Hours of work:
**Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm


Hourly Rate:

-£11.76 per/hr

PURPOSE OF ROLE:


The role of the Purchase Ledger Clerk is to hold responsibility for overseeing and monitoring a company's spending, ensuring all purchase invoices are authorised, coded, and processed in the correct way and timely manner in preparation to payments beingmade.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Creating a new Vendor (supplier) card in BC when a new supplier is used and ensuring supplier account details and terms are maintained
  • Matching GRN's to purchase invoices (also referred to as vendor or supplier invoices)
  • Checking and coding purchase invoices and team leaders PO requisitions already in the accounting software system used (Business Central / Sage) and posting of purchase invoices in a timely manner
  • Month end supplier statement reconciliations prior to payments being made
  • Communicating with the management team regarding unusual or unexpected queries or anomalies
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Maintaining stationary stock and placing orders when necessary
  • Assisting with Audit requirements
  • Providing month end reports and KPI's to the management accountant
  • Maintaining a clean creditors ledger

EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of legislation and practices in accordance with various business costs i.e Fixed Assets, VAT.

  • Experience of using Microsoft Navision / Nav or Business Central 36
  • A basic understanding of the accounting principles of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow
  • Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger Clerk role
  • Demonstrates problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to provide training and support to other.
  • Experience of using own initiative and working as part of a team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • GCSE (or Equivalent) English & Maths C or above
NVQ Level 2 AAT or equivalent (or working towards)
