About the BMA

BMA Northern Ireland supports our members in a fight for fair terms and conditions including pay, provides collective bargaining in workplaces and individual representation.


About the role:


We are looking for someone who is up for the challenge of helping the BMA to become a more effective and powerful trade union advocate for its members.

This role is based in our office in Belfast.

To be successful as a Head of Member Relations you'll have:

  • Considerable experience working at a strategic / leadership level within a Trade Union or similar environment
  • Expertise in industrial relations, employment law, bargaining & HR
  • Knowledge of medical political issues and healthcare landscapes in Northern Ireland
  • Experience of managing and developing a small team
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Negotiation skills and problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills
