Outpatients are seeking an enthusiastic receptionist/administration officer to help maintain the efficient administration in their departments at our Sutton Site.

This post is vital to the smooth running of the main outpatient clinics. You will work in a busy environment, providing a reception service for patients and relatives. The role also includes preparing medical records for the consultant's clinics. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you should possess excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and organisational skills. To undertake in a range of clerical, administration and reception duties within the Outpatient department in a sensitive and polite manner whilst providing a comprehensive & efficient clerical service to patients and clinical staff within the trust.

  • To provide a reception service, welcoming service users, ensuring an efficient, polite and friendly reception service is provided at all times.
  • To answer all telephone calls from patients and professional staff in a helpful and friendly manner and to ensure all calls not pertaining to the outpatients department are dealt with politely and efficiently and rerouted where appropriate.
  • To maintain a helpful and efficient approach whilst assisting patients to book their outpatients appointments as per Outpatients Booking Policy.
  • Liaising with clinical staff when clinics are fully booked in order to provide an overbooking service to all patients in all clinics.
  • To tick all patients in on arrival for clinics, checking all their personal details are correct.
  • Provide clerical support within clinic
  • To cover the radiotherapy desk and record patient arrival time, liaise with radiographers and nurses to ensure optimum efficiency within the department
