Description

A new and exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Housing & Allocations Team Leader to join First Garden Cities Homes.


This role will ensure the operational effectiveness of FGCH's housing management, allocations and letting services, as well as assist the Head of Tenancy Services to develop, implement and support staff to deliver excellent performance and services to customer in line with our vision, values and Corporate Plan.

Key Responsibilities:_

  • Manage the delivery of an outstanding housing management service, delivered to the highest standards in line with resident needs and expectations and FGCH's Corporate Plan.
  • Assist the Head of Tenancy Services to provide motivational leadership and support to the team, ensuring clarity of direction, effective communication and development of personal responsibility and potentially including appraisals and training plans.
  • Support the Head of Tenancy Services to embed and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
  • Assist the Head of Tenancy Services to develop and review policies and procedures to ensure FGCH meets housing legislation and best practice requirements, the needs of residents and its Corporate Plan.
  • Ensure all legal requirements relating to housing related tenures and compliance with tenancy agreements are met.
  • Be responsible for management, coordination and control of allocated resources to ensure the delivery of excellent housing services within budget and providing value for money.
  • Monitor and achieve performance targets, ensuring that a performance culture is developed and sustained within the team.
  • Carry out quality assurance checks regularly both officebased and on site.
  • Regularly review and manage individual and team performance making appropriate interventions and taking action promptly where required.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the organisation to develop, implement and support FGCH's housing management and allocations policies, ensuring the strategy and systems in place are sufficiently robust to support corporate goals and objectives.
  • Suggest and where agreed, implement a range of innovative solutions and service delivery methods in partnership with external organisations, to enhance effective housing management and contribute to the objectives of the organisation.
  • Cultivate appropriate relationships with key external and internal partners, representing the organisation at meetings with various agencies with regard to individual cases, acting in the best interests of the organisation and residents at all times.
  • Encourage excellence in customer service, personal accountability with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Identify and bring to the attention of the Head of Tenancy Services any developments and initiatives that have the potential to benefit the organisation, and to ensure that such information is fed back to the business planning process.
  • Monitor and report health and safety issues in line with the Health and Safety Policy.
  • Duties may vary from time to time within the broader remit of your role.

It is essential you have:


Experience:


  • Experience in the delivery of high performance housing management and allocations services.
  • Ability to supervise and support staff delivering services
  • Ability to monitor performance management systems and reporting on performance indicators.
  • Experience in implementing and embedding new procedures.
  • Experience of delivering outstanding customer focused service
  • Experience of working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Experience and understanding of budgets and resources

Skills & Knowledge:


  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of minimising void times, resolving antisocial behaviour and effective tenancy management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of allocations and lettings.
  • Ability to analyse detail and summarise findings for different audiences.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Demonstrate an efficient and effective working relationship with all colleagues at FGCH and with staff from other agencies.
  • Possess a good standard of dIT skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage high workload and conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrate supervisory skills
  • Possess good communication skills verbally and written

  • Possess a full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for work

Qualifications:


Desirable:


  • Possession or following a course of study leading to Chartered Institute of Housing qualification, or degree in Housing Management

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
£41,000.00 per year
