Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a
permanent, hybrid Operational Controller to join our
Staffordshire Highways team in
Stafford.

The
salary is £20,375 - £30,375 per annum.


Staffordshire Highways is working in partnership with Staffordshire County Council since 2014, to manage and maintain the county's highways infrastructure.


We deliver infrastructure services across 6,000KM of Staffordshire by providing maintenance to road, cycle routes, bridges, tunnels, lighting, drainage, traffic signals, trees and land.


By carrying out such works we aim to improve and provide effective highways services for the local residents and communities of Staffordshire.


The
Operational Controller plays an important part in delivering on client targets, effectively planning for multiple gangs daily whilst complying to the countywide permit scheme.


The
standard hours of work are Monday to Friday - 7:30am till 4pm, flexible hours, with a minimum of 2 days on site.

You will be responsible for:


  • Approval of the draft resource programme
  • Managing the daily activities of gangs/operations against programme, including direct contact with gangs when appropriate, in line with agreed timescales and in accordance with SLAs and commercial contract
  • Coordination with supervisors in the event of onsite issues
  • Review suspended and rejected jobs on Works Management system
  • Level 1 review of completed jobs for quality and accuracy of data, including details of labour, plant, materials, and photos
  • Schedule and coordination of emergency and less than 24 hour works (current day)

We want to hear from you if you have the ability to organise, plan and communicate effectively supported by your excellent Microsoft packages experience.


Ideally you will have experience of planning and co-ordination and detailed highways operational knowledge.


In
addition to this, it would be desirable if you have experience of working on a Highways Maintenance Contract and detailed Awareness of NRSWA and Permitting to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
