The role:

We are seeking a motivated and inspirational individual to join the team as Head of Education and Learning, to provide leadership, direction, motivation and support to enable the development of strategic aims for the education and learning services.


Responsibilities will include developing and delivering appropriate and cost-effective learning programmes for all hospice staff and the wider health and social care community in line with local and national recommendations.


The post holder will also lead in the development of education partnerships with the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Palliative and End of Life care network members, Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICS Academy, University of Worcester and other universities and education providers.


You will take responsibility for St Richards external education, the post holder will work with external stakeholders to identify specific educational need; overseeing the delivery of learning and education packages which encompass palliative and end of life care topics, whilst generating income for our organisation.

In addition, the post holder will ensure that staff and volunteers are compliant with mandatory training requirements.

The role includes financial and project management skills that will support the enhancement of clinical and non-clinical services and business development.

This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.


About you:


The post holder will have experience of managing educational programmes in addition to having a proven track record and ability of developing and delivering innovative course design and educational programmes.


The post holder will have a teaching or education qualification or willingness to work towards, as well as proven leadership and management experience.


Understanding of educational requirements in a hospice setting and of the wider national palliative care agenda are required for this post.


The role will require travel to external stakeholder sites as required so a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle is required.
