What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technical Team. This role typically report to the Design Manager


The purpose of the role is to support the Technical / Design team to provide a practical and cost effective design / layout service for the regional business.


The role will include:


  • Production of sketch and CAD layouts for prospective sites efficiently and accurately so that the Management team and Group Design department can assess the viability and make necessary amendments
  • Preparing residential planning layouts with accompanying design statements for submission to the local Authority with accuracy to maintain company guidance whilst accommodating the site constraints
  • Fully understanding the relationships between Group portfolio house types and how the design and layout can be improved efficiently thus maximising on unit size and density, sales and turnover for the region
  • On occasion attending and promoting the plans at meetings with Planning Authorities and be able to sell your architectural vision effectively to gain confidence and agreement for the project.

What experience, qualifications and skills are we looking for?

  • Previous experience working on residential housing schemes, in an architectural practice or for a residential developer
  • AutoCAD technical skills are essential and some Photoshop and Sketchup experience
  • Ability to perform hand sketches for feasibility studies
  • Ability to use your own initiative and work in a team
