National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Planner to join our team within the Midlands.

You will develop, manage and maintain the master schedule delivery programme for the region for in-year and future year programmes.


Your New Role:

National Highways have an excellent opportunity to join our team As a Planner within the Midlands region.

You will develop, manage and maintain the master schedule delivery programme for the region for in-year and future year programmes.

With flexible working and various Office locations to work within, including Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton ect.


What You'll Lead On:


  • Support the Senior Planner to compile and maintain the master view of yearly scheme schedules and delivery plans for the region, supporting the 'one programme' vision.
  • To proactively challenge project plans and identify opportunities to optimise the combining of works as part of regional collaboration initiatives or efficiency opportunities.
  • To maintain and update the scheme progress on a regular basis with consistent use of project controls.
  • To provide programme status and variance reports including those to fully support internal month end and year end reporting
  • Support the Senior Planner in the provision of key programme information including forecast/actual dates and outputs.
  • To develop strong working relationships and ensure continual liaison and collaboration with Scheme Delivery and Service Delivery colleagues, other National Highways stakeholders and thirdparty suppliers in producing, reviewing and updating the inyear programme.
  • To take an active role in collaborative planning initiatives, visual planning meetings and meetings that seek to maximise efficiencies across Operations to coordinate works and opportunities identified.
  • To ensure compliance with all processes and procedures, minimising nonconformances.
  • To take responsibility for the health and safety of colleagues and yourself by challenging, reporting and acting on any unsafe activities or conditions.

To be Successful:


Essential:


  • Experienced in project and programme management methodology and techniques.
  • Understanding of planning theory; critical path analysis, linking, float, rescheduling, maintaining and tracking baselines, etc.
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Advanced Microsoft Office i.e Excel
  • Selfmotivated individual with excellent analytical skills
  • An inquisitive mind with the confidence to check and challenge
  • Desirable: _
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and or Microsoft Project.
  • Operational experience with professional accreditations in planning & scheduling, project & programme management.
