A new opportunity has arisen for a
Recruitment Specialist to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract, to cover maternity leave.


About the role:

You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end recruitment across some of our Scientific Programmes by:

  • Managing the full lifecycle of vacancies within our Scientific Programmes
  • Providing expert advice and maintain best practice that enable manager's to make good hiring decisions.
  • Maximise opportunities to promote the organisation and its vacancies through a variety of channels and in line with the Recruitment Job Advertising Strategy and by working closely with the Recruitment & Marketing Manager.
  • Be a recruitment ambassador for our HR System, Workday.

In addition, you will:


  • Maintain an awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in recruitment and ensure our recruitment campaigns, and advice to hiring manager's support our EDI strategy.
  • Work with the Visa and Immigration Lead to ensure appropriate visa, immigration and new starter administrative data is correctly recorded and maintained to ensure the relevant audit trails are in place for the Institute's international staff.
  • Aside from filling vacancies, there will be an opportunity for involvement in projects that support our future Talent Acquisition Strategy.

Essential Skills:


  • Proven experience of managing the endtoend recruitment process in a busy HR environment
  • Knowledge of legal requirements in relation to recruitment (GDPR and discrimination legislation)
  • Proven experience of developing job descriptions and advert copy
  • Proven experience of developing selection processes including competency based interview design
  • Experience of using eRecruitment systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of social media and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of equality and gender issues in recruitment

About our team:


You will be part of the Recruitment & Immigration team, which supports all aspects of the recruitment for the Institute, working to recruit the best and diverse talent who will contribute to the success of the organisation.

As a large percentage of our employees are international workers, we also have immigration expertise to lead the visa and immigration activity.


The Recruitment & Immigration Team sit within the Human Resources Team who are made up of expert functions and include, EDI, Learning & Engagement, HR Services & Systems and the HR Partnering Team.


Other Information:


  • Salary in the region of £41,000 to £45,000
  • We work in a flexiblehybrid working team where a minimum of 2 days in the office are required.
  • Closing date: 3rd September
  • Interviews expected to take place 8th, 11th & 12th September
