Project Logistics LeadLocation - Hersham
Salary -£55,000-£65,000 PA
Duration months with potential to go temp to perm Hours
- Full time office based Summary of a Project Logistics Lead In this role you will be responsible for the successful execution of Project Logistics strategies on new plant asset projects in Europe, Africa, the Middle East.
- Interface with a variety of functions including operations, engineering, legal, and business management to achieve goals
- Effectively utilize Logistics Material Control system
- Effectively utilize eSourcing tools to launch inquiries and receive supplier quotations/proposals
- Develop efficient bid tabulations and lead sourcing reviews with a cross functional team
- Manage Shipping estimates and development of cost forecasts
- Create and manage the logistics proposals
- Support in Global audits of the Logistics teams
- Identify, develop and manage suppliers; understand safety, commercial and capacity risks
- Understand the logistics markets and the industries in which we do business
- Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers to maximize leverage and minimize risk
- Lead crossfunctional teams involved in supplier discovery and optimizing logistics spend
- Work closely with supported businesses and functional organisations to ensure stability and cost effectiveness of supply
- Bring innovative supplier solutions to maximize value proposition for individual projects and or across the supply chain
- Effectively participate in Continuous Improvement activities
- Assist in managing supplier performance and maintain interface within supplier's organisation
- Manage budgets and achieve targeted savings, develop and manage key supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business strategies
- Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience, involving international transport, trade and project logistics / project management experience.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous
- Flexible working and short notice travel ability
- Strong organizational, team and time management skills
- Working understanding of Microsoft suite of programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Good analytical and problemsolving skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) technical and nontechnical information
- Strong desire to work in a fastpaced, global environment
Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract
