Distribution Supervisor
Location - Grays, RM20 4EL
Shift Pattern:
Night Shifts. Rolling shift pattern of 12 hours; 4 days on 4 days off, 6am - 6pm
Axis Logistics Limited is a progressive and expanding UK subsidiary of the Prax Group, dealing with the transportation of road fuels.
Central to our success is our ability to keep their vehicles moving on time and to execute our schedules and effective management of all administration functions.
With this in mind, we are now looking to appoint a Distribution Supervisor.
Located at our Thurrock office, the Distribution Supervisor will ensure the highest standards of deliveries are met for all our customers, ensuring that all scheduled deliveries are completed in line with the customer's expectations.
Reporting to the Distribution Team Leader you will work on a shift pattern covering nights and weekends. Therefore, weekend working is a requirement for this role.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver the schedule, utilize resources efficiently and fulfil customer expectations
- Establish and develop good working relationships with all stakeholders, including Customers, Drivers, Transport Manager, Sales teams, and thirdparty contractors
- Ensure customer service is maximized and issues are dealt with to maintain high service levels communicating directly with customers as necessary
- To manage all driver operational / delivery queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Rerouting, scheduling, and arranging deliveries accordingly.
- Inputting of releases into terminal systems
- Provide support to Fuel Schedulers and the Transport Manager
- To monitor driver performance closely to ensure deliveries are made in line with agreements and escalate when necessary
- Ensuring all necessary information is fed back to the colleagues with in efficiently
- Provide support to all customers
- Assist with event investigation and resolution of issues
- Crisis management work closely with drivers and customers to minimize the impact to our business in the event of incidents
- Assist with administrative processes including payroll and POD record keeping.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability of working in an order and dispatch environment that is customer service focused, together with experience of vehicle scheduling
- Prepared to take the lead and ownership of the operation
- Be able to prioritize, work well under pressure and communicate effectively
- Strong sense of Customer focus
- Strong UK geographical knowledge
- Good written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of drivers' hours regulations and WTD
- Must be IT literate to an intermediate standard (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Team player
- Adaptable to new systems and processes
Pay:
£28,000.00 per year
